Camp Magical Moments: Cancer Camp for Kids in Idaho

Our dream is to offer children with cancer and their families a place of retreat in an environment of fun, friendship and love.

We hope you will join us for an unforgettable experience of fun and magical memories that are created at Camp Magical Moments.

Camp Magical Moments

Who: Children Ages 7-14 with or who have had cancer

What: Oncology Camp taking place in beautiful Swan Valley, Idaho

When: June 13th – 19th, 2027

Where: Hansen Guest Ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho

We hope you will be a part of the 21st annual camp at the Hansen Guest Ranch.  Camp is offered free to all children who have or have had cancer. And most importantly, our camp family is small — only 36 campers are selected each year – so get your request in soon.

In addition to our yearly oncology camp, CMM now offers the following FREE camps for the family members of the children who attend our oncology camp:

  • Oncology camp: June 14th-20th, 2026.
  • SIBS: So Important Brothers & Sisters Weekend takes place in February
  • MOM’S: Retreat takes place in October and offers a weekend getaway for the moms
  • DAD’S Work Weekend: Takes place in August and is for the dads…and yes, they usually build something for the camp!

Camp Magical Moments is a member of COCA (Children’s Oncology Camping Association) whose standards are followed at camp.

We look forward to your visit and getting to know each and every one of you. Contact us if you have any questions at 208-483-4345 or email us to receive a camper application.

I Wonder Why …

Izeyah Yenter 1995-2006

I wonder why He chose me,
A cell growing out of control so rapidly.
I wonder why He chose me,
A tumor on my brainstem that nobody could see.
I wonder why He chose me,
A year to live, it just can’t be.
There are so many things that I still want to be,
I wonder why He chose me.
Hospitals, doctors, MRI scans, and shots,
the pills I can swallow, the Thick-It I can not.
I wonder why He chose me,
To teach me and the world that only He holds the key,
To miracles, cures, blessings, and love,
God holds the keys to all of the above.
I no longer wonder why He chose me,
I live everyday as if it is my last
and be the best I can be.

Izeyeh was one of our campers who lost his battle with cancer in January of 2006.

Izeyeh – You are deeply missed, but will never be forgotten. Much love from your Camp Magical Moments family.

  • "CMM gave my family something priceless: the chance to feel normal again. For my child with cancer, it was an opportunity to be around other children, play, and simply be a kid after spending so much time in isolation and surrounded by adults. For my other children, it provided a safe place to connect with peers who understood the unique challenges of having a seriously ill sibling. It gave one sibling the chance to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of other families facing similar struggles. As a mom, CMM gave me a much-needed break from the constant stress, worry, and demands of caregiving. For a few days, I could breathe, rest, and simply enjoy being somewhere else. We are deeply grateful for the support, connection, and hope CMM provided to each of us."  -Becky; Camper Mom (2026)
  • "Jack was one of the first campers and we felt like our introduction to CMM was a miracle. Jack suddenly felt like he had won the lottery rather than being the sick kid with cancer. So many fun and new experiences that were only possible because of the unique environment at CMM. It brought light and joy at a time when Jack and our whole family desperately needed it." -Elizabeth; Camper Mom (2026)
  • "CMM has meant the world to my family! I love that there are other moms that 'get it!'"  -Heidi; Camper Mom (2026)

  • "Camp has meant so much to me through out my life and it is hard to express how I feel about it. Camp is my family. Camp makes my heart happy. I love it and I am so excited to be a part of it this year as a volunteer. Camp has taught me so much and has helped me decide what kind of person I want to be. Thank you for everything you have done for me and the other camps. I love camp and I love the volunteers! Thank you for your time and all that you do to make camp the best ever!" -Tori
  • "I love being able to give back to the camp family that has meant so much to my family! As a cancer survivor sibling, I love that I get to now help other kids learn and grow through their experience as a volunteer at a truly magical place. The entire family is supported, remembered, and LOVED, and I'm grateful to be a part of that as a volunteer.  At Camp Magical Moments, you truly become part of the family, whether you are a camper, family member, or volunteer, and you are connected for life." -Cyri
